Who Are The US Traitors

Election officials across the country are under attack again, and this time it’s from an unusual source identifying itself as the “US Traitor Elimination Party.” The threats come in the form of what the FBI called “suspicious packages” containing an unidentified white material.

So far nearly twenty state election offices have been targeted and, also thankfully so far, there have been no injuries reported from the packages. However, the Associated Press reports that several election officials have stocked up on the life-saving medication NALOXONE which can reverse an overdose from opioids such as heroin, fentanyl and prescription opioid medications.

This comes on top of the numerous threats election officials across the country have endured as the political polarization stokes the hate of some extremists. But there are several oddities to be noted in this latest attack on Democracy.

First, here are the states targeted so far: Alaska, Colorado, Georgia, Indiana, Kentucky, Massachusetts, Missouri, New York, Rhode Island, Mississippi, Connecticut, Iowa, Kansas, Nebraska, Oklahoma, Tennessee, Wyoming, Ohio and Maryland. The Washington Post noted that the one with the strange return address name was from Maryland.

There does not appear to be any pattern in the states being targeted. They are a mix of what are considered “Blue” and “Red” states, as identified by the election tracking site 270towin. That same site identifies 35 states that have voted for the same party every election since 1992, leaving 15 that have voted differently in the races from 2020 to 2022.

Of those 15, seven are being described as “swing states” by political analysts because their changing demographics have impacted their voter turnout. They are the states that news organizations like US News and World Report believe could decide the 2024 election.

Of those seven, only one — Georgia — was identified as one of those targeted and that was back in November. The latest series of threats have come in the last several months. The other six so-called swing states are Arizona, Michigan, Nevada, North Carolina and Pennsylvania. Those seven states account for 73 of the 270 electoral college votes needed to win.

Here is one last oddity to consider, and it may be far-fetched. Actually, it is far-fetched.

One of the hot TV shows is The Traitors which airs on Peacock TV. It is a murder-mystery show which started on various international channels and was brought to America who it is known as The Traitors (US).

The storyline is that 21 people are brought into a castle as a contest to earn a major prize money. Three of the 21 are identified as “Traitors” and they meet secretly to eliminate the other who are called “Faithfuls.” Just to add a final twist to the far-fetched possibility of a connection, the show began airing in January of this year. That’s when the latest series of threats began.
