Trump’s Fake News “Enemies” Are His Biggest Allies

The Story That Never Was

It may be accidental, but the so-called mainstream media that Trump criticizes on an almost daily basis are proving to be cheerleaders for Team Trump. The latest example of that is the “reporting” on the Iowa caucus. The word ‘reporting’ is in quotes because so many of the articles don’t meet the basic standards of good journalism.

Let me explain. .. No, let me sum up:

Donald Trump won the Republican primary. You no doubt already know that as does most of America. BUT — did you know that it was a HUGE VICTORY? According to the mathematical morons in the media it was. (I’ll explain the ‘mathematical morons’ statement shortly.)

The Washington Post in its coverage of the Iowa caucus called his win a “landslide.”

The New York Times in its coverage of the Iowa caucus called his win “overwhelming.”

The Times political editor Nate Cohen may be the worst offender. He wrote three separate articles citing Trump’s “sweeping”

It’s not much consolation but the international media, such as the BBC were not much better, calling his win “historically massive.”

It was NOT overwhelming… NOT a landslide… NOT sweeping… NOT historically massive. What was huge was the media coverage which was ‘hysterically massive” in its use of such hyperbolic terms — which brings me to the point about media mavens being ‘mathemetical morons.’ Here are the FACTS, as the figures supplied by Iowa’s own Republican Party show.

— There are 2.2 million Registered voters in the state of Iowa

— Roughly one third (34%) are registered as Republicans.

— The equates to 752,000 potential voters in the caucus.

— Of that number, 110,298 people actually voted.

— That is 14.6% of the total Registered voters and 5.5% of total voters.

— Of those who voted, 52,520 voted for Trump — 51% of the total votes.

— That equates to less than 7% of ALL Registered Republican voters.

So, explain to me, please, how less than 7% of all the Republican voters… how 52,250 votes… is overwhelming… massive… a landslide? And, yes, it was cold, but it’s always cold on election day in Iowa.

The only thing that was overwhelming, massive and a landslide was the amount of money spent in Iowa by the candidates. It is estimated to be $124 Million. Put another way, the candidates paid $1,120 for each vote cost. A cynic might say that’s why this inconsequential vote got so much media coverage.

And if that doesn’t make any analysis of Iowa as a bellwether state ridiculous, how about this fact –90% of Iowans are White. That’s 20% higher than the national average. So much for diversity. But here’s the kicker. Iowa’s track record. They’ve managed to pick the loser in the last four elections.

And there is little, if any, doubt that the coverage of the New Hampshire primary will be just as incompetent, just as ridiculous, just as hyperbolic, as the so-called mainstream media continues to prove Trump is right about one thing. They’re “fake news.”
